Hiring Insight

An efficient and decisive hiring process saves more than time. It saves money.

The longer a process drags on, the more competition enters the picture.

A great candidate experience is a competitive advantage. Top candidates often choose firms that are organized, communicative, and decisive.

As hiring slows, leverage shifts away from the employer and compensation pressure increases.

Build leverage where you can. Move with urgency and make decisions with confidence.

Candidate Perspective

Not all job search activities produce the same results.

A cold application is often the lowest-leverage path to getting your resume reviewed. Referrals, introductions, and relationships typically create far more visibility with hiring teams.

Another avenue worth considering is a contract-to-hire opportunity. In many cases, it creates an extended evaluation period where both the candidate and the company can assess fit, value, and long-term potential.

That doesn't mean you should stop applying for jobs. It simply means understanding where the highest-return activities are and investing your time accordingly.

Focus on leverage. The best opportunities often come from relationships, not applications.

Market Snapshot

  • The labor market remains tight. Companies are hiring carefully, and many professionals are waiting for the right opportunity before making a move.

  • Personal branding continues to grow in importance. Platforms like TikTok are becoming part of the recruiting conversation, creating new ways for professionals to increase visibility and attract opportunities.

  • AI recruiting noise is beginning to settle. The conversation has shifted from AI replacing jobs to AI helping people and companies become more productive.

  • Fundamentals still win. Relationships, reputation, expertise, and execution remain the biggest differentiators in today's market.

What I'm Seeing

We're spending a significant amount of time speaking with financial advisors and wealth management firms to better understand what drives career moves, hiring decisions, and long-term growth.

One piece of feedback we've heard consistently: many firms are concerned that there aren't enough young advisors entering the profession at a time when a significant amount of wealth is expected to transfer from one generation to the next.

The more conversations we have, the more we understand the market. The more we understand the market, the better we can serve our clients and candidates.
